About us

Godalming in Bloom was formed over thirty years ago to celebrate gardening in our town. From humble beginnings, the competition has grown into an annual event welcoming entries from gardens of all kinds, large and small.

Godalming in Bloom is run by a group of a dozen volunteer horticulturalists who seek to encourage and inspire others to garden and take care of the beautiful area in which we live. We place a particular emphasis on encouraging wildlife and promoting biodiversity through our green spaces.

In June each year we visit private gardens, allotments, schools, community gardens and businesses in Farncombe and Godalming. This is followed in July by an awards evening to recognise the hard work, skill and creativity demonstrated by individuals, organisations and businesses in developing their gardens.

Godalming in Bloom is part of the wider Go Godalming Association, an umbrella organisation that encompasses several charities and groups, including Sports Godalming, Film Godalming, Music in the Park, Godalming Canoe Club, amongst others.
